A vermiculture hatcheries was established at KVK, Lengpui which was funded by National Center of Organic Farming. The unit has a capacity of 50 quintals of vermicompost /year. About 4000 kgs of vermicompost has already been produced here and was sold @ Rs 5/kg. These vermicompost are mainly bought by florist from Aizawl and farmers from Lengpui areas. The sale of vermicompost may be one source to compensate KVK’s revolving fund.
